Writer Wenxuan Cao and painter Suzy Lee team up to create a story of a talented, hard-working little girl who overcomes her self-doubt and picks up her brush after experiencing setbacks. For the first time, the internationally-renowned writer and illustrator who has joined together, expertly conjuring a storm in a child who is weighing her abilities. Suzy Lee moved away from the light colors that she favored in her earlier works, but using bold black ink and ink, began to explore the texture of painting while placing the child at the center of this powerful story.
Wenxuan Cao said: "When I was writing this book, there were beautiful floral fabrics floating in my mind all the time. They are the carriers of color, and the painter finally perfectly reproduced the sense of color in my heart."
From the setting of the character to the direction of the story, Suzy Lee perfectly understands and enhances the power of this color, and the whole book is filled with a kind of shocking emotion. Every picture in the book shows the little girl's emotions vividly, naive, careful, confident, shocked, doubtful, flustered, wronged, persistent, angry, calm, and so on. It is this meticulous portrayal of the child's psychology and the full respect for the child's talent that makes this work shine with a more dazzling light.
